THEORY
Stratocaching is a scientific experiment and a ‘treasure hunt’ game concept. It is a combination of two activities that arousing people’s interest with: High Altitude Balloons and Geocaching.
The Stratocaching’s game players need to use their smartphones or any GPS receiver device to locate the GPS modules (or payload) called stratocaches which dropped from a high altitude balloon. The brainchild of the Czech non-profit association No Rocket Science in the Czech Republic is the pioneer of Stratocaching project.

High Altitude Stratocaching Workshop and Competition is the first program organized by Putra Space with cooperation of Aerospace Society Malaysia, Aerospace Engineering Society (AEROS) UPM and Department of Aerospace Engineering, UPM. This program is an initiative to venture into the field of Aerospace Engineering. A workshop will be held to deliver the knowledge and concept of Stratocaching. Putra Space will held a competition to test and evaluate the level of understanding and the application of knowledge and skills of the participants to produce their own Stratocaches within a given timeframe.
