PUTRA SPACE HIGH ALTITUDE BALLOON (PSHAB)

Overview..

A High Altitude Balloon (HAB) is a big latex balloon that is capable of carrying a bunch of objects to near space. These balloons are filled with helium or hydrogen and expand as they ascend through Earth’s atmosphere. The objects that are attached to a HAB is often referred to as the payload train and each payload serves a particular purpose such as scientific experiments apparatus and photography. The biggest HAB payload carried to space is 49 pounds (22.2 kg) and the highest current altitude record is 145,590 feet (44 km). Nowadays, the most important application of HAB is in measuring the atmospheric parameter such as temperature, pressure and humidity by launches balloon and transmitted the measured data to ground station. Our Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based High Altitude Ballon for scientific experimental study is developed based on the current problem of payload recovery method, cost and geographical of Malaysia.
