Putra Space is a team of Aerospace Engineering students actively involved in research and development of Lighter-Than-Air (LTA) experimental platform, especially in High Altitude Balloon and Hybrid Airship. In 2015, when Putra Space was founded, involving 8 students representing Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to compete in Global Space Balloon Challange (GSBC) 2015. In 2016, the team continued to participate in GSBC 2016 under Aero-PUTRA Space. This organisation then began to move as an organisation under Department of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia with Putra Space as the official name. Currently, we are actively in research and development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based High Altitude Balloon (HAB) for active aerosol sampling and Hybrid Airship UAV. The team mission is to share the passion and ideas of aerospace development projects, focusing in LTA vehicles at a global platform.
