Hybrid Airship UAV (HAU)

Hybrid Airship UAV (HAU) combines lighter-than-air (LTA) and wing / rotary concepts. Hybrid airships rely on both static lift and aerodynamics lift. A prototype airship has been developed as a test bed for its communication module, control system and mechanism.

Activity

Some 34 children, aged between 8 and 12 years, took part in a Junior Aerospace Scientist program which saw several interesting related activities being held such as making of airplanes, helicopters and rockets using papers and straws, demonstration of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and air balloon.. 

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)’s ‘Putra Space’ team succeeded in reaching to the second round of ‘Airbus Fly Your Ideas 2017’  when it was listed among Top 50 out of 356 teams from 89 countries that entered the competition.

AERO-Putra Space Win Best Video Award In The Global Space Ballon Challenge 2016

Serdang, June 10, 2016. The students of Aerospace Engineering Universiti Putra Malaysia Malaysia won the first place for 'Best Video Category' in the Global Space Balloon Challenge 2016.
